Why do we choose Polish OriginalWax ABI-157 soy wax at Scent Loop?
Scent is what we notice first about a candle. But for us, what is not visible at first glance is equally important - the wax, its origin, and how it was produced .
That is why at Scent Loop we consciously choose Polish OriginalWax ABI-157 soy wax OriginalWax ABI-157 . We want to know what raw material our candles are made from, where it comes from, and what technology was used in its production.
The term soy wax alone is therefore not enough for us.
What matters is which soy wax we choose.
What wax are Scent Loop candles made from?
To make Scent Loop candles, we use Polish OriginalWax ABI-157 soy wax. OriginalWax is a Polish wax manufacturer, while Scent Loop is a Polish manufactory that uses this raw material to create its own scented candles.
This distinction is important to us.
We do not produce the wax itself. We consciously choose a specific raw material and a specific manufacturer because we want to have as much knowledge as possible about one of the key ingredients in our products.
In the case of a candle, wax is certainly not a minor detail.
It is the candle's base.
Why isn't every soy wax the same?
On the packaging of many products, we can find terms such as “soy candle” or “natural soy wax.” It might therefore seem that every soy wax is essentially the same product.
That is not the case, however.
Waxes can differ in origin, manufacturer, technical specifications, how the raw material is obtained, and documentation concerning the production process.
That is why we asked ourselves more questions when choosing the wax.
Where does the wax come from? Who produces it? How is the oil it is based on obtained? Is chemical extraction used in the process? What documentation does the raw material have?
That is precisely why we decided to work with a specific wax - OriginalWax ABI-157 .
Hexane-free soy wax - what does it actually mean?
One reason for our choice is how the raw material is obtained.
The production of plant oils may involve solvent extraction, including the use of hexane. However, oil can also be obtained mechanically.
The OriginalWax ABI-157 wax we use at Scent Loop is made from oil obtained mechanically, without the use of hexane during the extraction process .
That is where the term Hexane-Free comes from.
This matters to us because we want to view the candle more broadly than simply through the lens of its final composition.
We are interested in the entire process leading up to it:
soy > oil extraction > wax production > our manufactory > finished Scent Loop candle.
This gives us a better understanding of what our products are actually made from.
What does Hexane-Free mean?
In this case, Hexane-Free means that hexane extraction was not used to obtain the oil serving as the base for the wax.
This is important because the term “soy” primarily tells us what type of raw material it is, but does not describe the entire process by which it was made.
For an informed product choice, it is therefore worth asking not only:
“Is this soy wax?”
but also:
“How was this wax produced?”
At Scent Loop, we want to be able to answer both questions.
Why did we choose Polish OriginalWax?
The origin of raw materials matters to us.
Scent Loop is a Polish candle brand and workshop, so being able to work with wax produced by a Polish manufacturer is an added value for us.
But origin alone would not be a sufficient argument.
The choice of OriginalWax ABI-157 was determined by a combination of several factors: Polish origin, traceability of the specific raw material, its production method, and the properties we expect from the wax used in our candles.
Instead of buying anonymous soy wax, we can specify exactly:
Scent Loop uses Polish OriginalWax ABI-157 soy wax.
For us, transparency begins with precisely this kind of information.
ECOCERT COSMOS and NON-GMO - why do we mention them?
In the case of the raw material we use, the manufacturer's documentation regarding ECOCERT COSMOS and NON-GMO is also important.
Here, we want to be very precise.
This information refers to the raw material used to produce our candles, in accordance with its manufacturer's documentation. Certification or a declaration concerning the wax should not automatically be equated with certification of the entire finished candle.
After all, a finished candle is not just wax. It also includes the fragrance composition, wick, vessel, and the entire production process.
That is why, instead of using general slogans, we prefer to say exactly what raw material we use and why we chose it.
Is a candle made from hexane-free soy wax better?
We do not want to reduce the choice of a candle to a single slogan or suggest that one parameter automatically determines the quality of the entire product.
For us, Hexane-Free primarily provides information about the way the raw material is obtained.
The quality of the finished candle also depends on many other factors: the quality of the fragrance composition, the right proportions, wick selection, the temperature at which we work with the wax, the pouring process, stabilization time, and inspection of the finished product.
That is why we treat OriginalWax ABI-157 as the starting point, not the whole story of the candle.
The next part takes place in our workshop.
From Polish wax to a finished Scent Loop candle
When the wax arrives at Scent Loop, the next stage begins.
We select the fragrance composition, test how it behaves when combined with the wax, adjust the wick, and control how the candle burns.
In candle production, details matter enormously.
The same composition may behave differently depending on the type of wax, the diameter of the vessel, or the wick used. That is why every formula requires proper preparation and testing.
Only the combination of good raw material, the right formula, and a handcrafted process creates a product that we want to put the Scent Loop name on.
Why do we name our wax?
Because we believe customers should be able to know more.
If you ask us:
What wax do you make Scent Loop candles from?
we do not want to answer only:
from soy wax.
We can answer specifically:
We create Scent Loop candles using Polish OriginalWax ABI-157 soy wax, whose base is obtained mechanically, without hexane extraction.
For us, this is much more valuable information.
A thoughtful candle begins with a thoughtful choice of raw material
Scent Loop was born from a love of fragrances, emotions, and the atmosphere that can be created indoors with candlelight. But every fragrance is also backed by technology.
Behind the aesthetic vessel is a formula.
And behind the finished candle are specific decisions about what we make it from .
That is why, when choosing wax, we were not simply looking for an answer to the question: Is it soy wax? We wanted to know more.
Where does it come from? Who produces it? How is it made? Can we identify a specific raw material instead of using an anonymous description?
That is why we work with Polish OriginalWax ABI-157 soy wax. Because for us, the quality of a Scent Loop candle begins before its fragrance even emerges.
It starts with the raw material.
